At Mendon Child Care Center, the preschool room is a busy place. The 3-year-olds here want to touch, taste, smell, hear and speak; and they are set on doing most things for themselves. It's a time when children struggle to gain inner control but are eager to soak up new knowledge and experiences.
The preschool room is organized around a theme-based curriculum. Some of the activities are self-directed, while others are teacher-directed. Kids will participate in daily circle time, planned playtime, large muscle play and activity centers, including dramatic play, a block area, an exploration center and the library corner.
Our universal pre-kindergarten room is for kids ages 4 to 5. At this age, we begin to see a growing interest in letters and numbers. These kids are adventurous, bold, eager, excited, silly and fun! Our certified teachers of the pre-K program will introduce your children to whole class instruction, small group interaction and peer-to-peer activities, to prepare them for school.
